A different report on the consultative dialogue between the Municipality and the citizens.

In the presentation of the 2023 Budget Report from the point of view of the citizens of Vlora, there was increased attention from civil society representatives regarding the demands of the citizens and the confrontation of the findings of local organizations with the facts presented by ALTAX experts.

The report showed that the Vlora Municipality and the public consultation process, which is still in process, needs as many opponents as possible and voices articulated with the logic of financial arguments in defense of citizens’ demands.

Meanwhile, the report was forwarded to the online media, where there were also evaluations and requests for an even further presentation of these facts, which helped the parties to find a common dialogue.

It is worth noting that the comments of civil society representatives were of a critical approach as far as it is related to certain parts of the local budget, which needs to look more closely at the needs related to the social approach and support for the needy classes at this time of the inflation crisis and the increase in the number of families that may be on the verge of poverty.

The report will continue to be forwarded in dialogue with the Municipal Council and its members, to encourage increasingly clearly those requests that still have time to be modified according to the citizens’ requests expressed in the Survey conducted by ALTAX in June 2022.

His findings, coordinated also with surveys of organizations in Vlora, can be another model for changing the deliberative dialogue between the Municipality and the citizens.
