Consultative meeting with finance authorities for property tax and local tax administration

In the meeting with deputy Minister of Finance, Mrs. Vjero, the highest level responsible for fiscal policies in the country, as well as the General Director for wealth tax, Mr. Sahitaj as well as the drafting staff of the draft law “On the property tax in RSH” highlighted many valuable findings in respect of the implementation modalities of the law, the way of communication of tax obligations and their coping by new taxpayers, as well as access to related to the technical part of the legislation.

The representative of the Albanian Tax-Economic Center – ALTAX in this consultation meeting focused on such moments related to the need for an analysis and reflection compared to the year 2019, when the new way of taxation was presented.
On the other hand, the representative of ALTAX raised issues for discussion regarding the equality that should be guaranteed to taxpayers by the implementation of this law. Likewise, the problems related to the fight against informality and the cooperation that must have in the drafting processes of instructions and decisions in implementation of the draft law were another moment of concern and offer for cooperation from the Albanian Tax-Economic Center – ALTAX.

The other recommendations were closely related to the experience and discussions during the last two years with municipalities with weight in budget revenues, within the project “Social monitoring through citizen interaction”, based on #socialaudit and which has been among the most valuable achievements within the MATRA projects supported by #NLembassy in Tirana.
