Ranking of Albania according to the Corruption Index, 1999 – 2021

Meanwhile, according to the Transparency International Report and based on the table prepared by ALTAX (according to annual reports), the Corruption Perceptions Index in Albania has increased from 27 points (84th place out of 180 countries in 1999) to 35 points (110th place out of 180 countries in 2021), indicating that corruption is on the rise during this time period. The index itself is a composite indicator that includes data on the perception of corruption in areas such as bribery of public officials, bribes in public procurement, misappropriation of state funds and the effectiveness of government anti-corruption efforts.
